Autoimmune Discovery
Human
This 770 gene panel is designed to enable researchers to discover links between known autoimmune disease associated germline variants and their gene expression. The genes in this panel were selected from the top nine autoimmune diseases, providing an ideal tool to explore disease-associated mutation gene functionality and biomarker characterization. The comprehensive content enables gene expression profiling of immune response together with the gene mutations. Together, these traits allow researchers to identify new gene functions and look at gene expression in response to treatment.

Details & data
Genes were selected and annotated for evidence of association in 9 autoimmune disorders and human immune response. The genes considered for inclusion were based on both data driven and biological selection methods. The table below outlines the 9 autoimmune diseases focused on and the panel content associated.
Disease Association | Description | # Genes |
---|---|---|
Multiple Sclerosis | Demyelinating disease of the nervous system | 104 |
Rheumatoid Arthritis | Chronic inflammatory disorder of joints | 95 |
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus | Inflammation and damage to various body tissues | 55 |
Type 1 Diabetes | Disease that causes damage to beta cells in the pancreas | 44 |
Ankylosing Spondylitis | Chronic inflammatory disorder of the spine | 43 |
Celiac Disease | Immune response to gluten that damages small intestine | 249 |
Ulcerative Colitis | Disease causing inflammation and ulcers in large intestine | 200 |
Inflammatory Bowel Disease | Inflammation of the digestive tract | 249 |
Psoriasis | Deficiency in function of multiple endocrine glands | 48 |
Other Immune Response | Human immune response genes | 237 |
